The Autocarro Sahariano (Saharan Lorry)  was a 4 x 4 truck with four wheel steering and independent suspension all round.   It was used as a personnel carrier and also served as the basis for a number of self-propelled guns.   The vehicle depicted in this kit is from the second series, built from 1939.   Visually, it differed fron it's predecessor in the seating arrangement of it's load compartment and the provision of a larger stowage box.   Two auxiliary fuel tanks were fitted to the cab roof and the tilt cover extended forward to cover them.
