This was four-barreled version of the 2.0cm Flak 30.   Both were introduced in 1940.   Mounted on a tripod base for all-round travers and firing AP or HE shells, the quad proved to be a very effective weapon against low-level air attacks and also against ground targets.   It was subsequently mounted on a variety of armoured and softskin vehicles to provide a mobile and effective weapon system.
