This was the pricipal German ant-tank gun at the start of WW2.   Development began in 1925 and by 1941, some 15000 had been produced in Germany.   At the start of the war it was one of the best ant-tank guns in service anywhere.   It remained in service throughout the war gradually being superceded in first-line units and being passed on to second-line and reserve formations.   Crew 6.
